Construction.com Wins Codie Award for Best B2B Website and CWA Journalism Award for Excellence in Editorial Content

Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) and the Construction Writers Association (CWA) Bestow Honors Upon Construction's Leading Internet Portal

NEW YORK, N.Y., May 20, 2002 - McGraw-Hill Construction, part of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP), today announced that construction.com has received top honors from two prestigious industry organizations this Spring. The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) named construction.com the Best B2B Web site at its annual Codie Awards ceremony. That was followed by the Construction Writer's Association (CWA) honoring of construction.com with this year's Journalism Web site award for excellence in editorial content.

"Being honored from both a technology and content standpoint re-affirms construction.com as the strongest and most reliable source of construction information and applications on the Internet. These two awards recognize the quality data and tools construction.com provides construction stakeholders everyday," said Norbert Young, president of McGraw-Hill Construction.

Construction.com surpassed five other finalists to receive the coveted SIIA Codie Award for Best B2B Web site. The Codie Awards provide the only peer recognition program in the software and information industry.

Construction.com was one of two Web sites to receive the CWA Journalism Web site Award this year. Winners were recognized for consistent efforts to provide valuable content, while meeting high standards of journalism practice.

CWA noted that the site was, "Comprehensive, with highly relevant news pages." Construction.com was also praised for its coverage of September 11th, "the rebuilding/recovery in New York and Washington was first rate."
