Bentley Systems, Inc. and The McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group Integrate sweets.com with Bentley's MicroStation®

NEW YORK & EXTON, PA – (May 17, 2001) - Bentley Systems, Incorporated and The McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP) today announced an enhancement of interoperability between the two companies' product offerings for the design and construction industry. Bentley MicroStation/J users can now download building product information and other components directly from sweets.com (or via construction.com) in native format.

"We are excited to add this feature and capability to the sweets.com product marketplace for MicroStation users," said Howard Mager, senior vice president and general manager of Sweet's. "Designers and specifiers using MicroStation now can view, compare, and select products, instantly incorporating the information into construction documents."

"The business benefits to our users are twofold," said Charley Ferrucci, vice president of marketing at Bentley. "First, by creating a Web-based reference in the design for component details, users can now quickly check and update product information at any time during the project. Second, time is saved importing component information directly, with full control of scale, color, line weight, angle and other properties."

CAD Library is an organized collection of thousands of CAD Drawings. They are found under individual manufacturer's product profiles on sweets.com, and are for the free use of registered users of sweets.com. CAD Library allows manufacturers to communicate detailed product information. Bentley's DragN, a small utility application, in conjunction with sweets.com, provides an intuitive interface to view, select and insert product information directly during the design process.

DragN can be downloaded for free through sweets.com and Bentley.com.
